Supporting CFA Volunteers and Community Resilience at Run for the Firies 2026

A little rain, a challenging hill and a great cause!

On Sunday 25 October 2026, Resilient Services was proud to sponsor Run for the Firies, a community fundraising event supporting the Research and Kangaroo Ground CFA volunteer fire brigades in Victoria.

Bringing together runners, walkers, local businesses and community members, the event was a wonderful demonstration of community spirit and a shared commitment to supporting the volunteers who help keep our communities safe.

Supporting CFA Volunteers and Emergency Preparedness

At Resilient Services, emergency management and community resilience are at the heart of what we do. We work with organisations across Australia to strengthen emergency preparedness, response capabilities and resilience, helping them prepare for, respond to and recover from emergencies and crises.

Through our work, we recognise that effective emergency management relies on more than plans and procedures. It depends on people, partnerships and communities working together.

CFA volunteers play a critical role in Victoria’s emergency management arrangements, dedicating countless hours to training, preparing for and responding to emergencies. Their commitment extends well beyond the fireground, helping strengthen community safety, awareness and preparedness.

As emergency management professionals, we understand the importance of supporting those on the frontline. Sponsoring Run for the Firies provided a meaningful opportunity for Resilient Services to give back to the emergency management community and recognise the extraordinary contribution of CFA volunteers.

Resilient Services Takes on Run for the Firies

Of course, we couldn’t sponsor a running event without getting involved!

Our Brand Manager and Organisational Resilience Consultant, Sammy Harris, took on the 10.6km course, braving the rain and the notorious Allendale Road hill to cross the finish line.

Our Director of Operations, Brea Chapman, also had the pleasure of presenting awards to the teams that raised the most money, recognising the fantastic fundraising efforts of participants supporting the local CFA brigades.

Despite the wet conditions, the community spirit was on full display, with runners, walkers, volunteers and supporters coming together for a shared purpose.

Building Stronger, More Resilient Communities

At Resilient Services, we believe resilience is a shared responsibility.

While much of our work focuses on supporting organisations through emergency management planning, training, exercising and business continuity, we also recognise the importance of contributing to the communities in which we live and work.

Supporting local emergency services is one way we can put that commitment into practice.

With Victoria’s bushfire season approaching, Run for the Firies also served as a timely reminder of the importance of bushfire preparedness and the vital role volunteer emergency services play in protecting communities.

Building resilience isn’t just about preparing for emergencies. It’s also about supporting the people who respond when they occur.

We are proud to have played a small part in supporting such a worthwhile cause.

A big thank you to the Run for the Firies organisers, Research and Kangaroo Ground CFA brigades, volunteers, participants and fellow sponsors for making the event possible.

And congratulations to everyone who ran, walked, volunteered or fundraised to support our local emergency services!

At Resilient Services, we’re committed to helping organisations and communities build the capability and confidence to prepare for, respond to and recover from emergencies. Learn more about our emergency management and resilience services.
