How to minimise infecting those at home when wearing PPE at work

The changing face of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in the workplace in 2020, has gone from a Fluro vest for outdoor workers, to anyone that must face the public being dressed like surgeons. Supplying and wearing such PPE is now commonplace, particularly in Melbourne. Instruction on how to wear, remove and store PPE has been drummed into us. Yet there is little said about how you ought to keep your home free of residual germs that may gather on you even though you’ve worn your PPE as directed.

This is incredibly important, particularly when you consider that New Zealand’s 102 days of no COVID 19 reports were broken, and this may have been transmitted from imported goods.

Luckily, we have a Registered Nurse in the team, and she received notification from the Australian Nurses and Midwives Federation, who supplied a 5-step guide, which the following is based on.

Feel free to contact us if you’d like to discuss this, or any other resilience item!
